Why Choose Us?

Being independent means we’re on your team, caring for your pet

We’ve been at the heart of Hampshire life since 1893, building relationships in our communities that mean clients travel from around the county to trust us with their pets.

Over this time we’ve remained proudly independent and while we’ve evolved to reflect our changing industry, we’ve stayed true to our core values – prioritising our patients, communicating with transparency and honesty with our clients and pushing standards to deliver the very best care.

To see this blend of heritage and high performance in action, look no further than our recently refurbished Alresford and Alton surgeries – purpose-built, state-of-the-art facilities which we opened in 2019 and 2022, significantly upgrading the service we can offer.

We love taking the time to get to know each pet and their owner to understand their unique needs. We’re so proud of our Lifetime Care Club, and we encourage all of our patients to join in order to access the very best preventative care – tailored to each pet.

Being independent allows us to invest in our practices, team and equipment. We have a comprehensive range of diagnostic equipment and surgical facilities, allowing us to examine, diagnose and treat conditions quickly.

From routine vaccinations to major surgery, our team are fully committed to providing the expert veterinary care your pet deserves – after all, why break the habits of several lifetimes?

In the community, since 1893

Our practice was first established in Alresford in 1893 and we’ve evolved at the forefront of our industry through the centuries, expanding to Alton in 1923 and then to Four Marks in 1985.

In that time we’ve built a strong connection with the people and pets of Hampshire – as you can see in our fantastic Google reviews!

We are now the longest-standing, locally-owned vets in the area and we’re proud to use our standing for good.

We regularly support community events, including the Alresford Watercress Festival and you can meet our team at our stand at the Alresford Show.

We proudly work with HART Wildlife Rescue to care for our local wildlife as well as supporting local charities such as Dogs For Autism. We also constantly strive to raise awareness to ensure the health and wellbeing of all animals through talks to local schools and clubs.

Getting better every day

We’re proud of the care we can offer from our refurbished Alton and Alresford branches, while our Four Marks practice offers our clients another convenient location to check in with our team.

We’re at the forefront of the industry, offering services including digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure, endoscopy, dentistry, CT and in-house laboratory tests.

Our operating theatres are complete with the latest anaesthesia monitoring equipment and we are able to offer keyhole surgery, with the benefits of being minimally invasive, less painful and delivering faster recovery times.

We’re particularly proud of our Lifetime Care Club, which offers our clients the very best preventative care for a simple, monthly payment as part of a 12 month contract.

Our plan offers a range of benefits including annual vaccinations, year round flea and worm control delivered to your door and a six month health check to help catch problems as early as possible. Additional discounts are also available on a range of procedures and services including in-house laboratory fees, neutering, dental scale and polish and Virbac prescription food.

By always looking to improve, we aim to continue caring for pets and their owners in our community for another 100 years – and we’d be delighted if you joined us to help write the next chapter in our story!
