Why Choose Us?

Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Accredited Practice with Highly Skilled Vets and Nurses

As an RCVS accredited practice, we are inspected every four years to ensure that we offer the highest standards of clinical services and care.

We also have a number of Vets with further certificates in small animal surgery. Certificates are awarded for advanced knowledge, skills and overall expertise in these areas of special interest. We are a training practice for Veterinary Nurses and we also provide placements for work experience and Veterinary students.

Investment in the Latest Equipment

We offer a range of up to date clinical services including digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure, endoscopy, dentistry, CT and an in-house laboratory enabling a quick turnaround for test results. Our operating theatre is complete with the latest anaesthesia monitoring equipment and we are able to offer keyhole surgery to some patients for specific conditions. Key hole surgery has the benefit of being minimally invasive, less painful and results in faster recovery times; our Vets are specially trained to provide this service.

Specialist Visiting Veterinary Surgeons

We have three specialist Vets that visit our surgery to perform orthopaedic, ophthalmic and cardiology procedures. Our cardiology team operate under Cedar Referrals. This enables us to offer on-site specialist consultations and treatment for your pet; rather than having to be referred some distance from the practice.

Separate Hospitalisation Wards On-site

This means your pet is able to stay at the same practice throughout their treatment, day and night. We have a separate dog and cat ward to ensure all of our patients remain as stress free as possible, resulting in a better recovery. We also have separate isolation facilities at our Alton and Alresford practices to provide complete containment for patients with transferrable disease. In addition we are proud members of the Cat friendly clinic scheme and are fortunate enough to have a quiet zone in our reception area for cats and small furries, to help reduce stress.

Nurse Clinics & Consultations

We offer a wide range of nurse clinics including, ‘Fabulous Furries’, ‘Golden Oldies’ and ‘Cuddly Club’, to promote the best care possible for your pet. Alongside clinics, our highly skilled nursing team carry out consultations including nail clips, post-operative checks, suture removals, dental examinations, microchipping and bandaging.

Pet Healthcare Scheme

At Cedar Veterinary Group we believe that prevention is better than cure so we have set up a Pet Healthcare scheme. This enables the cost of preventative treatments to be spread across the year into more manageable monthly payments, whilst ensuring the best care for your pet.

Convenient Location & Home Visits

We are easy to find and are able to provide free on-site parking for our clients. We understand that in some circumstances it is just not possible to come into the practice and in this instance we try to offer a vet home visit. When the time comes some owners also prefer to have their pets euthanised in the more peaceful and familiar home environment, which we are more than happy to facilitate.

Supporting the Local Community

We are the longest standing privately owned Veterinary practice in the area and we have continued over the years to support the local community. We regularly sponsor local agricultural events, including the Alresford Watercress Festival and have our own stand at the Alresford Show. We proudly work with Hart Wildlife to care for our local wildlife. At Cedar Veterinary Group we also constantly strive to raise awareness to ensure the health and wellbeing of all animals, regularly performing talks to local schools and clubs.
